In very simple terms, whānau ora relates to the wellbeing of whānau or families. Whānau Ora is determined by each whānau in relation to their own circumstances.
Tama Corporate was established to provide services across the spectrum's of welfare, health and education. This was in response to the growing problems that whānau and tamariki within Porirua were experiencing. These kuia were also supported by Maaka Metekingi, Te Puoho Katene and Alfred Potaka connects anyone facing homelessness to the people who can help. We can help you find emergency housing, meals, health services, counselling, legal help and more, all in one place.
